However, we feel it is a missed opportunity that these beautiful books are often opened only shortly after delivery, and are then put away and used purely as decoration.

That's why we came up with the Solulu storage books, which not only mimic the look of real books , but also function as a smart storage solution.

New collection

Size L: Japandi Calm, Cherry Charm, Burnt Orange : the sizes of these storage books fit items with the dimensions of an A4 such as a large notebook, magazine, envelope. In addition, they fit: an iPad, average remote control, matches, tea lights, lighter and other small knick-knacks.

Size M: Golden Hour, Hidden Spots, Indian Summer (with photo): fits the average remote control, small envelope, notebook, to-do list, e-reader, iPad, bunch of keys and other small knick-knacks.

Basic collection:

Size L (Sad Beige) : This storage book is currently the tallest book. It will fit one or more average remote controls, e-reader, pens, notebooks, tea lights, a lighter, a matchbox, large letters/envelopes, a charger, and anything smaller than the items listed.

Size M (Cosy Living) : This storage book is the smallest book in the collection. A very nice size that fits flat remote controls, an iPad mini, e-reader. Furthermore, small envelopes/letters fit in here, as well as tea lights, lighters, a matchbox, a notebook, pens, and all other small knick-knacks ;).

But... think 'out of the box' , besides all these things you can also use the books perfectly to put in the bookcase and store important documents, or put them in the toilet and discreetly store your menstrual supplies in them. Maybe there are also items in the bedroom that you prefer to put out of sight? ;)

Our storage books can of course be placed in different places and in different rooms, from (coffee) table to the toilet. Let us name our favorite places:

(Coffee) table: Of course it belongs on the coffee table, the place where it should not be missing. Beautiful as decoration, the perfect item to style the coffee table.

Bedroom: Do you like to read before going to bed? Store your e-reader in it. Or do you not want to have to worry about items in sight that you would rather not see when the bedroom door is open? Then store your stuff with peace of mind in a Solulu storage book ;)

The hallway: When you come home, you want to feel at ease right away. A cozy and tidy hallway contributes to creating a homely feeling, allowing you to let go of stress as soon as you enter. In addition, the hallway is the first part of the house that visitors see. It's nice when it's tidy, right? Store incoming mail, keys, and wallet in a beautiful storage book that also serves as an eye-catcher.

Desk: Keep your desk tidy, this contributes to a tidy mind. Store your knick-knacks, notebooks, to-do lists, pens and envelopes in our beautiful decorative storage books.

The Toilet: It might not be the first place you think of to put your storage book, but our books can serve as a discreet storage place for menstrual products such as tampons and sanitary towels.

! The bathroom is a very humid room, which our books do not appreciate. We therefore advise against placing the books there.

Please note! Just like all other (coffee table) books, our Solulu storage books do not like moisture, water and direct sunlight. Therefore, do not store the books in damp or very sunny spaces.

It is possible that the colours on the website or social media and the colours of the storage books in reality do not match exactly. We strive to give the most accurate image of the storage books with the product photos. Atmosphere photos may vary slightly more.

There could be several causes, such as variations in lighting, different phone or screen settings, or post-processing of the photo.

That could be right! The covers of our storage books are made of cotton or linen.

Linen is a natural material that can 'pill' somewhat and also show some 'runs' or 'pulls'. This is mainly seen in the 100% linen variants: Sad Beige & Cosy Living.

We embrace these features of the storage books, because this makes them unique! If you have received a storage book that you think has too many of these features, please feel free to send us an email with a photo so we can offer a suitable solution.

Solulu's waxinelichthouders zijn gemaakt van alabaster, dit is een natuurlijk en poreus gesteente uit Egypte dat licht op een bijzondere manier doorlaat. Zodra je een kaarsje aansteekt, ontstaat er een zachte, warme gloed die je met geen enkel ander materiaal krijgt. Magisch!

Solulu’s alabasters zijn om meerdere redenen ontzettend populair. Allereerst omdat ze zó sfeervol zijn, bijna magisch. Het licht schijnt door de steen heen en zorgt voor een dromerig en warm effect dat je meteen voelt in de ruimte.

Daarnaast zijn ze voor veel mensen een echt verzamelobject. Elke alabaster is uniek in tint en patroon en verkrijgbaar in verschillende afmetingen en vormen. Juist daardoor zijn ze geweldig om een collectie van te maken en steeds weer verder uit te breiden.

Ja! Alabaster is een natuurlijk gesteente en wordt met de hand gemaakt in Egypte. Hierdoor zijn de waxinelichthouders allemaal verschillend in kleur, patroon en structuur. Dat maakt ieder exemplaar uniek en bijzonder. Je haalt dus echt een houder in huis die niemand anders heeft!

Bij Solulu kun je alabasters op 3 manieren bestellen.

1. Via de algemene productpagina’s van de verschillende vormen, zoals Round, Pebble, Teardrop en Cilinder. Hier kies je een tint. Binnen die tint kunnen de alabasters onderling verschillen, bijvoorbeeld licht of donker, met veel patroon of juist bijna geen patroon. Bestel je via de algemene productpagina, dan kiezen wij een alabaster of set voor je uit in de door jou gekozen tint.

2. Tijdens een drop met kant en klare sets. Regelmatig delen wij drops (kant en klare sets) Drops kondigen wij via Instagram aan. Voor deze sets is er een aparte productpagina. Wij stellen zorgvuldig combinaties samen van alabasters die perfect bij elkaar passen qua tint, patroon en formaat en fotograferen deze. Zo weet je precies welke set je ontvangt.

Hoe werkt een drop?

Tijdens een drop komen er kant en klare sets online. Deze sets worden zorgvuldig door ons samengesteld, zodat de alabasters perfect bij elkaar passen in tint, patroon en vorm. We fotograferen elke set afzonderlijk, waardoor je precies weet welke alabasters je bestelt en binnenkort thuis mag verwachten.

Een drop gaat live op een vooraf aangekondigde datum en tijd. De aankondigingen delen we onze Instagram @solulu.nl.

Vaak kun je de foto’s van de sets eerder op de dag al bekijken, waarna ze op het afgesproken tijdstip beschikbaar komen in de shop.

De drops zijn ontzettend leuk! Je kijkt alvast mee, kiest je favorieten en wacht tot het live gaat. Omdat elke set uniek is en maar één keer beschikbaar, maakt dat het extra bijzonder. Het is de spanning, een beetje geluk hebben en de kick die je voelt als het lukt om jouw favoriet te bemachtigen! Je weet zeker dat je iets in huis haalt wat niemand anders heeft.

Let op: rond drops is het altijd erg druk. De meest geliefde sets zijn vaak binnen enkele minuten uitverkocht en het is al meerdere keren gebeurd dat een volledige drop dezelfde avond nog helemaal weg was.

Alle alabasters worden met de hand gemaakt. Daardoor kunnen hoogte en diameter licht verschillen. Soms is een exemplaar iets hoger en iets smaller, of juist andersom. Dat hoort bij het ambachtelijke proces.

Alabaster is een poreuze steensoort. Het kan niet goed tegen harde stoten of vallen. Zet je houder daarom op een stabiele plek en ga er voorzichtig mee om.

Kan alabaster tegen water?
Alabaster is poreus en neemt vocht op. Reinig je houder daarom met een droge of (zeer) licht vochtige doek en gebruik geen schoonmaakmiddelen. Dompel hem nooit onder in water.

Ja, dat kan. Alabaster is poreus en juist daardoor komt het licht er zo mooi doorheen. Door die open structuur kan kaarsvet in sommige gevallen in de steen trekken of aan de onderkant door de steen heen lekken waardoor er vlekken kunnen ontstaan op jouw meubel/accessoire.

Wil je dit voorkomen? Dan kun je een onderzettertje onder de waxinelichthouder plaatsen, een laagje zand op de bodem strooien of kiezen voor een LED waxinelichtje.

Ja, bij het branden van een echt waxinelichtje kan er lichte roetvorming ontstaan. Vooral als het lontje te lang is of als het kaarsje niet mooi schoon brandt.

Omdat alabaster poreus is, kan roet zich hechten aan de binnenkant van de steen. Op het oppervlak is dit meestal voorzichtig weg te vegen met een droge doek. Als roet echter in de poriën trekt, kan het lastiger volledig te verwijderen zijn.

Wil je roetvorming zoveel mogelijk beperken? Knip het lontje kort voordat je het aansteekt en gebruik kwalitatieve waxinelichtjes. Wil je het helemaal voorkomen, dan is een LED waxinelichtje de meest veilige keuze.
